Going Back to Work

Work...

I went back to work November 2nd.  It was not as hard as everyone was telling me, but not as easy as I thought.  We are all doing a great job getting used to the new schedule.   Max gets to spend 2 days a week with my parents, 2 days a week with a wonderful babysitter/nanny, and my job allows me to work remotely 1 day a week.

Hanging with Grampa Craig while mom's at work
In the meantime Max is doing very well, he likes his play mat and to kick the toys hanging from the top.  He likes tummy time and reaching for his rattles, anything that is soft and noisy.

Right before I went back to work, it was Halloween.  My mom helped make a cute "Max" costume - he was "King Max" from Where the Wild Things Are.

October 2015 Fun

October has been a wonderful month! Max got to meet many great people in his life!

The month started out with a baby shower for my friend Emilie.  Emilie is due to have a baby girl in December.  Max got to meet Emilie and Marielle some great friends of mine from high school!   I am so excited to meet her Em!

Soon after that Great Grandmother and Svend come for a 10 day visit from Memphis, TN.  Drew and I were able to show them our new house and what we have been able to do for Max!  We spent a lovely afternoon in Boston for lunch and a walk by the harbor.  The last weekend they were here, we spend 2 1/2 days in the North Shore visiting the lovely Inn at Castle Hill.  While 10 may not seem like a lot, it was a very special time I will hold dear in my heart.

It is moments, weekends and months like October that I am reminded how important it is share family with Max.  Drew and I are beyond thrilled for Max to have so many who will teach him the lessons we cannot, be there for him when he needs to get away from Mom and Dad, and love him fiercely  Family and friends alike we love you and hope you know how important you are to us!

Oh yeah!! In the midst of all the fun, our fur baby turned 3!  Happy Birthday to our spoiled and oh so loved pup Dillon!   (Side Note - Dillon thinks he and Max are super heros - "Mad Max" and "Daring Dillon", I cannot wait to see what trouble those 2 get up too!)

7 Weeks Strong

It is hard to believe 7 weeks have flown by! Drew has gone back to work full time and I have gone back to coaching 3 nights a week.  It is nice for Drew and Max to have some time together and for me to see my other "kids".  Max is growing stronger everyday!  He has outgrown his newborn clothes, begun to coo and smile at us (granted sometimes we are not sure if its us or gas.)

Below are some photos of the past 3 weeks!

Max at his one month Doctor's apt - he likes tummy time!

Max and his elephant.  This picture was taken 09.09 - he was exactly 1 month old!

4 Generations of Spearin's  - Max and I spent another weekend with family in Maine while Drew was away!

Sally and John came to visit and see how Max has grown!  This time there was no work involed, just a great time visiting!

As I prepare to head back to work full time around Thanksgiving, I will be cherishing each day I have home with Max.

Labor Day Weekend in Maine 2015

This weekend Drew, Max, Dillon and I all took the 3 hour trip north to my grandparents house in Gardiner Maine.  My grandparents bought the camp 30 years ago and have turned it into a wonderful vacation spot for all of us to visit.  There we get all the luxuries of modern bathrooms and the beautiful scenery of the lake.

This weekend Max got to meet my his great grandmother - Nana and be loved on by lots of family and friends.  Dillon enjoyed himself too!(although he is hard to get a picture of!)

All packed up and ready to go!

Max dipping his toes in the lake.

It was a little to cold, mom!

Selfie with Gampa on the boat1

Watching my first Patriots Pre Season game with Grampa and Gramps!

Checking out the lake grounds with Gramps - there was a lot of birds and flowers to see!

Hanging out - I finally got my thumb!

Lounging with the ladies by the water! (Don't worry I was in the shade, had an umbrella and my dad's old hat!)

Love the lake breeze.

Talking to Nana after breakfast.

It was a long weekend for all!

Our New Normal ...

Drew (and my mom) went back to work this week.  That means the extra hands from 7:00 - 4:00 are now just mine.  Max, Dillon and I spent day 1 adjusting and survived!  Once Drew returned we took a nice family walk, had dinner, bath time, story time, tummy time, and bed.  It will take some time, but be a nice routine.

Dad reads the best stories!

Thank you Grandmother Irene and Sven for the beautiful crib!

Dillon and Max hanging out ... learning to love each other

Over 1 Week at Home

Drew and I have enjoyed having Max home for over a week. During that time we have engaged in MANY firsts!  (With MANY MANY more to come)

Max met Dillon - our family dog.   Dillon was not too sure about Max at first, but is slowly coming around.

Max has also had many visitors come to meet him and spend time with us!  One of our favorite moments was when my grandfather came to visit.  He was able to meet his great grandson, a very special moment for all of us!

During this past week we have taken our first walk as a family of 4, had Max's first set of professional pictures taken and went out to a nice lunch.

Lots of Love,

Maxwell Rodney Kelsey
August 9th, 2015 10:53 am
8 pounds 14  ounces

Maxwell "Max" made his grand entrance into this world on Sunday August 9th, 2015.   Max was born at Newton Wellesley Hospital at 10:53 am.  He was welcomed by my parents, Drew's parents, my aunt, my brother and his girlfriend.
At that moment we already knew he was beyond loved!

Because he was born via C-Section we spent a few days in the hospital healing and getting to know each other as a family of 3.  As I heal, Drew has been amazing taking care of both Max and myself - I never thought I could love him more.

I never thought I would be "that mom" and want to share millions of pictures a week but I do...For everyone's sanity...Ill share them here with all of you!

Lots of Love,
Drew, Lindsey, Max and Dillon
